In keeping with the scientific objectives of CHROMOTOPE, the candidate chosen for this position will document a collection of samples sent to the CNAM in the first half of the 20thcentury by major European dyeing companies. A classification framework has already been established and will need to be consolidated and expanded to describe the specificities of the dyes on a chemical basis. Further samples will also be taken to establish a chemical library for future reference and analysis.
While the research technician will primarily work on the documentary archives of the CNAM and the related collections of the Musée des Arts et Métiers, he/she will be expected to travel to other key institutions in France and abroad for the project.
The research technician will join an existing interdisciplinary team of international researchers with whom he/she will liaise regularly, in particular with the post-doctoral Fellow in the history of sciences and techniques who will be recruited at the same date.
The candidate chosen for this position should hold a Bachelor of Science (Licence) or equivalent in chemistry or conservation science.
